The son of Walter James Bishop, and husband of Mary Ellen Bishop,
of 63 Toronto Road, Buckland, Portsmouth. His son William Phillip
was born December 25, 1914. According to his attestation papers,
he was five feet five inches tall, with a fresh complexion, brown
hair and had hazel eyes. Before enlisting he was employed as a labourer.
Joined the Royal Navy on October 11, 1898.
